I have an f32 428i and it’s making this exact noise, before my f32 I had a e92 328i xdrive and I’ve been following your videos for years now due to how thorough you are with explaining and showing common issues with these bmw’s thank you!

The main one for me is ISTA. It's absolutely world-changing that a free/basically free bit of software allows dealer-level control of absolutely every part of the car electronics, all diagnostics, and most impressively, EVERY SINGLE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE described right down to the individual bolts, advise on how to angle parts to go back together, oh, and all the pre-requisite tasks and post-fitting tasks. It's like the glory days of Haynes Manuals, but on steroids. If I ever give up my 4 Series this is the thing I won't be able to forgive other manufacturers for.

My first car was a 2014 338i xdrive, I loved that car, customized it and everything. Most of my diys were done watching kies from his first videos. I traded it in 2020 when they told me it needed a new turbo and I wasn’t gonna pay for that. I would love to get back in a bmw, maybe an SUV as my family has grown since then

they're not f80 brakes. just the optional extra 370mm brakes

I have saved about 25k on doing repairs myself. I owned numeruois bmws since 2004. Costliest was 2007 x5 v8 and i did repair infamous coolant pipe leak on it myself.

As a manual BMW owner (e90, e89) you don’t have to force it into reverse gear, the pattern is over and down, easy.

Hey Justin, long time follower...need your help. I saw this video before I started this project earlier in the week along with a few others. I do need help though, I got everything removed but, for the life of me, I can't get the new clip to go on. Spent a solid 5 hours messing with all this earlier in the evening... Then I had an epiphany, do I need to not set the e-brake? It seems like I don't have enough space to fit the replacement part in. It seems like it's under tension and there's two different competing forces. Usually whenever I jack up a car I always set the parking brake and the e-brake, but I read something this evening that said when you jack your car from the rear the e-brake is useless anyway, so I wonder if I don't set it if that will release the tension in the cable line and give me some more flexibility for the install. Your thoughts? Did you have your e-brake set? Thanks in advance for all of your help I greatly appreciate it.

i would love to build a financial base (i'm 20), but i live in germany and just the drivers license is 3.5-4.000€ in my area (50km radius)... i ain't gonna pay that only to drive a "car i don't like". When i finally can except the -4k on my bankaccount i'm getting a BMW:) Prices in germany for used cars crashed years ago (prices rised up insanely high) and the market hasn't recovered yet sadly:(

I just turned 23, graduated college, have a full time job for over a year now, and have saved up money for a 340i Xdrive. Found one with 54k miles and had it checked out by a trust European automotive repair shop in the area, and it’s being sold by a Volvo dealership. Praying everything works out! Been watching for one for over a year and held back on a lot, think I’m making a very conscious decision

There should be a class action lawsuit against BMW (& other manufacturers) for saying that the transmission fluid doesn’t get changed because that’s total crap (like my transmission). My 2009 BMW 1 series 128i convertible has transmission issues and only 116k miles. The previous owner never changed the fluid per BMW and now it shudders in 4th & 5th gears when I drive it in full automatic mode. If I manually shift it drives fine with no shudder. If there has been a schedule to change the fluid and the previous owner had it done this most likely wouldn’t be a problem. Now I’m screwed with a transmission that is not going to last very long. It’s a crime to not have a schedule to maintain it. I read up on this and found that there is no coolant flush, or trans flush, or diff flush or fuel filter that is scheduled by BMW. That’s criminal on the part of BMW. No wonder BMWs have so many issues. I’m sick of auto makers misinforming customers on these maintenance issues. BMW should be forced to either replace transmissions that have issues like mine or replace the entire car. Won’t ever buy another BMW ever again. Oh and good luck selling my car without replacing the transmission!
